A large service organisation are looking for an Operations Director with a finance background to lead a large team in delivering its Accounting and Finance contracts. The role is perfect if youre a commercial finance leader looking to move away from core finance into a more operational line of work.

This unique opportunity will involve ensuring the business is delivering on current contracts, supporting the creation of bids and mitigating operational and financial risk. This is a huge operation which will involve leading a substantial team across the country so you will need to be energetic, level headed and full of ideas.

This role will involve 2 - 3 days travel across the UK each week and outside of that you will be mostly home based.



Responsibilities will include but arent limited to:

* To be accountable for existing finance contracts, ensuring the Contract Managers are delivering in line with contractual expectations
* Manage clients, partnerships and other stakeholders and support the Contract Managers in delivering a first-class service delivery to clients
* Identify operational and financial risks & opportunities and ensure necessary action plans are in place and delivering results
* Support the Business Development team on new opportunities and respond to the opportunities as the Subject Matter Expert. Identity and present pricing and commercial risks
* Managerial oversight of circa 250 FTE (circa 10 direct reports) and mentor direct reports and the wider teams where appropriate
* Establish and maintain constructive relationships with clients both on operational and a senior level, aligned with the Partnership teams



Education, Skills and Qualifications

* Financial background, ideally ACA, CIMA or ACCA with a strong understanding of finance processes
* Demonstrable track record of developing and maintaining relationships with Senior leadership in a matrix environment
* Experience of P&L ownership and managing complex budgets
* Evidence of success in leading, managing and motivating staff across multiple locations to achieve agreed outcomes
* Experience of contract management, including commercial contractual relationships across multiple clients
