Stanton House is recruiting an interim CFO to join an FMCG business in Central London. This critical role will be instrumental in steering the company through a pivotal period of change and stabilisation.

The focus of the Interim CFO will be to stabilise the business, strengthen banking and stakeholder relationships, lead refinancing efforts, and oversee the development of a robust and realistic 2025 budget process. You will work closely with the executive team partnering closely with the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Stabilisation: Assess and address immediate financial challenges. Implement short-term measures to secure financial stability.
  • Banking & Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain and enhance relationships with banking partners and financial institutions. Negotiate favourable terms to support refinancing objectives.
  • Refinancing Leadership: Drive refinancing initiatives, aligning with the company's strategic goals. Prepare and present financial scenarios and models to potential investors and lenders.
  • Budget Management: Lead the 2025 budget process, ensuring accuracy, realism, and alignment with business goals. Provide comprehensive analysis and insights to support decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Support and mentor the finance team to ensure optimal performance during this transitional period. Foster a culture of accountability and excellence.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced finance leader with a proven track record in similar interim CFO roles within the FMCG sector or other fast-paced industries. You will have a hands-on approach, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to instil confidence in stakeholders.

Key Experience and Attributes:

  • Demonstrable experience stabilising and restructuring businesses in challenging environments.
  • Expertise in refinancing and banking relationship management.
  • Strong strategic budgeting and financial planning skills, particularly in complex settings.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
