With more organisations offshoring or outsourcing their transactional services, more of a focus has been placed on commercial finance roles in the UK and who is best to fill them.
While the academic profile remains the same, it seems the personality and social attributes of the ideal commercial finance professional have changed drastically.
They are now expected to be confident, approachable and influential. Able to change the mindset of their peers and leadership team, give an overall opinion on the current financial status of the business, push back on senior stakeholders in a productive manner and translate data into non-financial language for the workforce.
But with the role evolving by the minute, how much do commercial professionals need to change?
