Stanton House are partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, PE backed business who are seeking a highly experienced Group Financial Controller to join their dynamic team.

This pivotal role will oversee and consolidate all financial aspects of the business, acting as the right hand to the CFO and offering succession planning into this role.

You will be instrumental in driving the financial strategy and planning, ensuring robust financial management and fostering growth and transformation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Fully qualified accountant (preferably ACA qualified and practice trained).
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software.
  • Solid background in senior finance roles with readiness to grow into the next level.
  • Deep knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, corporate finance, and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports, analyzing performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Audit & Compliance: Manage the preparation of annual statutory accounts and maintain relationships with external auditors.
  • Budgeting & Planning: Lead the budgeting and long-term financial planning process, preparing annual budgets and five-year plans.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with functional heads to provide financial insights, support budget control, and drive financial updates.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline FP&A processes, document procedures, and implement efficient tools and systems.
  • Project Accounting: Establish robust project accounting capabilities to track investments, establish KPIs, and report on CAPEX, OPEX, and IRR.
  • Internal Controls: Design and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain strong internal controls and safeguard assets.
  • Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Systems Evaluation: Evaluate and improve financial systems, implementing new solutions to enhance reporting and drive process improvements.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis, highlight opportunities, and support the CFO in approving financial models for new investments.
  • Cashflow & Tax Management: Manage cashflow, prepare statements, and ensure tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and R&D claims.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Develop financial strategy and manage relationships with Private Equity investors and senior stakeholders.
  • Board Reporting & M&A: Refine KPIs, prepare board materials, and support M&A activities.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead and participate in ad-hoc finance projects as needed.
