In terms of Venture Capital funding, Q2 2024 was the best quarter since Q1 2022 – Globally $4.4bn was raised across 153 deals, in comparison to $2.7bn in Q1 across 173 deals. There were notable big rounds from Wiz who raised $1bn at a $12bn valuation, Cyera who raised $300m as their Series C, and Island who raised a $175m Series D. It definitely felt like a resurgence of late-stage funding; the first half of 2024 has seen 19 rounds over $100m, last year saw only 20 across the entire year.

From an M&A perspective, it was a busy quarter with 20+ deals globally. Those of note include Akamai’s acquisition of Noname, Thoma Bravo’s acquisition of Darktrace, as well as LogRhythm and Exabeam’s merger.
