Virgin Media O2 is a British Mass Media and Telecommunications company based in London, Slough and Reading. The company was formed in June 2021 as a 50:50 joint venture between Liberty Global and Telefonica through a merger of their respective Virgin Media and O2 UK businesses. It is one of the largest entertainment and telecommunications operators in the UK, with around 47 million customers.
Post merger, VMO2 embarked on a large integration project, which required heavy investment into their Finance function. A key focus was to bolster the
Accounting, Reporting and Controls team, due to the work needed around system integration and the acceleration of reporting processes. Stanton House
was exclusively engaged on a recruitment project to hire 9 permanent, qualified Finance roles and worked closely with VMO2’s talent acquisition team.
Speed of delivery was key, given these roles were critical to the integration. After the initial briefing, our expert consultants collaboratively produced a high-quality shortlist within ten days. This allowed the customer to start interviewing immediately. Our in-depth knowledge of the market, our proactivity
and efficiency as well as the quality of the relationships we hold, meant we could very quickly present our customer with exceptional Finance talent.
The working relationship with the customer and Stanton House was key to the successful outcome of the project, as the customer was receptive to our
insight and feedback throughout the process. We ensured we had a well mapped out recruitment process agreed at the start, which ensured the candidates were engaged throughout. Ultimately this resulted in Stanton House placing 7 out of the 9 roles.
“Kate and her team have been fantastic helping us recruit multiple roles within a very short space of time, her insight of the market and the calibre of candidates put forward was exceptional.
