Job Title:
Commercial Advisor

Stanton House is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Commercial Consultant to join a dynamic team in a Private Equity Oil & Gas business with revenues of £500m. This role is critical in providing strategy and expertise in bids, tenders, and contract reviews. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the oil and gas sector or utilities and a proven track record in commercial consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid and Tender Management: Lead the evaluation and submission of bids and tenders to ensure alignment with company strategy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Contract Review: Conduct thorough reviews of existing contracts to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for renegotiation or improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to align commercial strategies with organisational goals.
  • Market Analysis: Assess market trends and competitor activities to inform bidding strategies and improve contract negotiation outcomes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and investors outlining findings, recommendations, and potential impacts on future strategy.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices in bid management and contract negotiation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Consultant, specifically in bids, tenders, and contract management within the oil and gas or utilities sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise complex information into actionable insights.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues in the oil and gas or utilities market.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role is outside IR35 paying c£800pd. Travel will be required to Scotland on an ad-hoc basis.
