Centrica is a FTSE100 multinational, leading energy services and solutions provider focused on helping customers live sustainably, simply and affordably.
The company is headquartered in Windsor, Berkshire and has revenues in excess of £20bn. Their brands include; British Gas, Hive, and Dyno to name a few.
Centrica is renowned for delivering effective change programmes and looking for new and innovative ways to improve processes and create efficiencies.
Centrica embarked on a business-wide transformation to put FP&A and Financial Operations into a single location, leaving commercial finance as true partners to the business.
This required the finance function to blueprint processes, re-engineer and look to outsource to a new SSC.
Due to the ever-changing landscape within the business, shortlisted candidates were required to be versatile, operate with a level of autonomy, hold a
keen eye for process improvement.
We were asked to build and resource the finance transformation programme.
Stanton House partnered with key stakeholders and influencers to scope out the programme and
understand the timings and people resources that would be needed along the way.
The nature of the transformation called for niche roles with a blend of hard-to-find Finance and IT skills. To ensure the right people were available at
the right time, we were able to provide interims with assignments for alterative employers, aligning their contract end dates to Centrica's roadmap.
In addition to successfully delivering the programme, Stanton House has since gone on to place a number of interims at Centrica ranging from FP&A
Consultants and Process leads (O2C, P2P, R2R) to Finance System Specialists.
“We focus on acquiring talent that can make an immediate impact and bring hands on knowledge. Stanton House has made a significant contribution in
enabling us to get this right, by knowing our culture and having a network of interims that can contribute to the success of the programme.”
