My client requires a Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic Property leadership team and the wider financial reporting team to help run an efficient, value-for-money operation. You will understand the drivers of cost and revenue in the business, working closely with the team to identify key levers for operational and strategic decision-making. Your analysis of financial and non-financial data will provide insights into value for money and efficiencies, help the team become more commercially savvy and cost-conscious.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain budget adherence while achieving operational goals, unless there's an approved, value-for-money reason to diverge
  • Provide decision support for initiatives to the Property Leadership Team
  • Partner with Property leadership to make informed decisions and achieve business area targets, including the repairs joint venture operation
  • Challenge managers on costs, assumptions, and processes to ensure professional and commercial operations, delivering value for money for customers
  • Contribute to senior management meetings, including Pyramid joint venture meetings, and drive action through financial and business performance presentations
  • Promote and embed a value-for-money culture across the business by benchmarking against best-in-class practices within and outside the sector
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to balance long-term property investment plans with short-term responsive repair costs
  • Act as a critical friend, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting with consistent and justifiable assumptions
  • Identify, report, and mitigate risks to the budget and forecast in collaboration with the business
  • Serve as the bridge between Finance and Property, fostering mutual understanding and information exchange
  • Support financial planning processes with robust assumptions and data, aiding in strategy development for property
  • Lead financial reviews as part of continuous improvement to enhance financial reporting, performance, and controls

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar)
  • Demonstrable experience of business partnering with senior management
  • Ability to challenge strong stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships
  • Previous experience in a senior role within a housing association, property management, real estate, or a similar industry desirable
  • Persistent and resilient, capable of delivering value even with poor quality data and processes
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels within a business

If you are a proactive and strategic thinker with a passion for driving value for money and efficiency, we would love to hear from you.
