Interim Financial Accounting & External Reporting Lead

Stanton House is recruiting for an Interim Financial Accounting & External Reporting Lead to join a Logistics Business in Derbyshire on a 12-month Contract offering £500 - £550 per day inside IR35. This hybrid role works 3 days in their Derbyshire office and the rest from home.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of Group financial statements (year-end and half-year) and oversee subsidiary and regulated entity reporting.
• Own and maintain Group accounting policies, manuals, and technical papers, ensuring compliance with new standards.
• Manage multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership, Investor Relations, Board members, and external auditors.
• Contribute to Board and Audit Committee papers and support the Annual Report process.
• Promote best-practice financial reporting and drive continuous improvement in audit and consolidation processes.
• Oversee the external audit relationship, acting as the main escalation point.
• Provide technical accounting guidance across the Group and assess impacts of new standards or business changes.
• Review and enhance reporting processes for greater efficiency and control.

To be suitable for this role you must have the following:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and audit processes.
• Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proven ability to independently manage full audit cycles.
• Big 4 or mid-tier audit firm experience preferred.
• Able to meet tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.
• Strong leadership, organisation, and workload prioritisation skills.
• Confident communicator across all levels, including senior executives.
