Interim Financial Accountant

Stanton House is recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant to join a Logistics Business in Derbyshire on a 12-month Contract offering £400 per day inside IR35. This hybrid role works 3 days in their Derbyshire office and the rest from home.

Responsibilities:

• Review and approve period-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Monitor reconciliation compliance, investigate variances, and provide feedback.
• Support the internal controls testing framework and ensure proper documentation.
• Handle accounting queries from the team and wider business.
• Assist in preparing Group and subsidiary financial statements (year-end and half-year).
• Support external audits and coordinate with auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with IFRS 16 accounting and related controls.
• Contribute to ad hoc tasks and provide support across the finance team.

To be suitable for this role you must have the following:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with solid IFRS knowledge and strong reconciliation skills.
• Able to perform under pressure, especially during year-end deadlines.
• Confident in making judgments with limited or incomplete data.
• Team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
• Experienced in improving financial control processes.
• Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong Excel skills and SAP experience is a plus.
