Lead Record to Report (R2R) Accountant
3 - 6 month contract / Inside IR35
Hybrid Working (2-3 days in the office)
Overview: The Lead R2R Accountant is responsible for overseeing the record-to-report process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the integrity of financial statements. This role requires leadership, technical accounting skills, and a thorough understanding of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end record-to-report process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by team members.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for reporting and analysis.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and variances.
- Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and professional development.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the R2R function.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
- Financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in accounting, with a focus on the record-to-report process.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including process improvement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
