Interim Group Treasurer
Overview
Stanton House is hiring an Interim Group Treasurer to support a leading infrastructure organisation's finance team based out of London - 6 months in duration, Outside IR35. This is a project position reporting directly to the CFO, this role will take ownership of key treasury projects, drive process improvements, and enhance treasury operations, including long-term cash forecasting and payments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with agents and lenders, interpreting facility agreements, and advising internal stakeholders on financial strategies. This interim role requires a hands-on approach, with the ability to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury Management
- Act as the primary liaison with banks, supporting refinancing discussions and identifying opportunities to optimise funding structures.
- Oversee the renewal of financing facilities and develop a forward-looking treasury strategy.
- Implement improvements to treasury operations, ensuring best practice is embedded across cash management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Develop and execute a robust cash investment strategy to maximise returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of biannual Compliance Certificates and manage lender presentations.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of financing documents and concession obligations, ensuring full compliance with reporting requirements.
- Lead efforts to streamline treasury systems and processes, potentially implementing new technology and assessing resource requirements.
- Provide strategic oversight on financing for key business projects.
- Work closely with treasury advisors to execute financial transactions and ensure optimal financial outcomes.
- Manage annual credit rating reviews and influence outcomes effectively.
Cash Management
- Take ownership of cash management at all levels, including maintaining and enhancing cashflow models.
- Manage working capital effectively, ensuring optimal payment scheduling.
- Deliver accurate and timely cash forecasting, tracking performance against key financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in forecasting and reporting.
- Optimise cash management processes to ensure operational efficiency.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Take responsibility for treasury-related reporting within management accounts.
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory, periodic, and half-yearly reporting, including intercompany reporting.
- Support the audit process, preparing documentation and responding to queries as required.
- Contribute to key financial reports, including board, distribution, and audit committee papers.
- Oversee the calculation and management of debt service cover ratios.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant or treasury professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AMCT, or equivalent).
- Varied sector experiences in complex environments including infrastructure
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external lenders.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive and methodical approach.
- Experience working with a range of lenders and financial institutions.
- Track record of driving process improvements and implementing treasury best practice.
- Strong understanding of capital structures, compliance reporting, and financial agreements.
- Ideally, experience in whole business securitisations and Common Terms Agreements.
