Job Title:
Head of Financial Reporting

Stanton House is exclusively working with a prominent private equity-backed business to find an Interim Head of Financial Reporting for a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This dynamic multinational organisation, generating over £1 billion in revenue and operating in more than 100 countries, is seeking a seasoned interim professional to lead through a pivotal period of transformation. With a track record of impressive growth in recent years, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a thriving business.

As the Head of Reporting, you will report directly into the Interim CFO (who we placed) and deliver the following:

  • International Reporting Management: Lead the oversight of consolidated international monthly reporting to the US parent company, with a strong emphasis on public quarterly and annual reports. You will review data in the group’s consolidation system, ensure the timely production of necessary reports and notes for the Group accounts, and validate submissions and disclosures for accuracy in compliance with US GAAP and other reporting standards.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare a complete set of auditable consolidated financial statements, ensuring adherence to IFRS.
  • Advisory Collaboration: Partner with the Corporate Controller to provide guidance to local entities on accounting treatments for various transactions, focusing particularly on revenue recognition and lease accounting, among other areas.
  • Monthly Analysis Review: Analyse and review monthly reporting packs and associated documents to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Audit Liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring the successful completion of statutory audits across international operations.
  • Collaboration with Regional Finance Teams: Work closely with Regional Finance Management to support timely reporting in alignment with US GAAP requirements.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain strong communication with Global Financial Management to facilitate collaboration across teams.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Control Environment Development: Contribute to building a robust control environment across the international Group.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with other Group functions, such as Tax, Legal, and Treasury, to cultivate strong working relationships and enhance overall efficiency.

In order to succeed in the role;

  • Accounting Qualification: A full accounting qualification (ACA preferred), with a strong academic record and experience from a Big 4 firm.
  • Proactive Approach: A self-starter who can dive into the details while maintaining a strategic perspective, demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm in all tasks.
  • Project Management Expertise: Excellent project management skills, capable of overseeing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Consolidation Expertise: Relevant experience in preparing group consolidated accounts, with a preference for knowledge of US GAAP (though a strong understanding of IFRS is also valued).
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive technical knowledge, particularly in US GAAP, but a high level of IFRS knowledge will be considered.
  • Research and Analysis: Demonstrated interest and experience in researching technical IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting issues, along with the ability to draft technical papers that support key conclusions.
  • International Exposure: Ideally, experience working within a listed international or PE organisation that values diverse cultures and perspectives.

This role is paying up to £110k plus benefits and you will be required in the office in London min two days a week
