Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Hybrid (with occasional in-office presence)

Contract Type: Interim (Daily Rate Contract)

Duration: 6 months initially

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the development of a centralised data cube and analytics framework. This role will be pivotal in transforming raw data from disparate sources into actionable insights that inform business decisions, support performance monitoring, and explore opportunities for process optimization, including future AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build a robust data cube to consolidate and analyse transactional data
• Lead data ingestion and transformation processes from multiple sources, including Excel, PDFs, and online portals.
• Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Finance Director and company leadership, to define analytical priorities and reporting needs.
• Present clear, data-driven narratives that support business strategy and decision-making.
• Support the business in preparing for a potential exit by surfacing trends and insights for private equity review.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in data engineering, including building data cubes and designing ETL processes.
• Expertise in building and maintaining data cubes and delivering data models that drive insight.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, visualisation, and reporting, ideally with Power BI or similar tools.
• Ability to work independently, define analytical strategies, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience handling large-scale transactional data and working in a hybrid work environment.
• Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
